Peak Points, episode 4. We're going over the UFC 313 card and then we're going to do a little bit of drama pertaining to Sean Strickland and then some trippy Reddit reactions.
Alan:Oh yeah, extra trippy.
Strickland:Way to sound creepy, just the way I like it.
Alan:And, as always, if you want to go ahead and skip to the Reddit reaction segment, go up the road 30 minutes and you'll be right there. Gross. All right, Harley, let's get into the octagon.
Harley:Heck yeah.
Alan:UFC 313.
Harley:Going to be one heck of a fight card, oh man.
Alan:I think we're going to witness the first UFC death with that Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker but we'll get into that. On the early prelims of that card we got a couple of Randys Jordan Santos versus Ozzy Diaz I don't see any Randys.
Harley:I don't know who that is. I'm looking at the card right now. I don't see any Randys.
Alan:They're pretty random to me, bro, um, but we don't have. We have one randy, that just came off that double fist knockout.
Harley:Well, he got knocked out by the double fist. Bro, that's not his name, he's not.
Alan:He's not randy he's not randy, but he's armin petrosian. And if you recall what happened, yeah, versus shara bullet or the Pirate, that crazy move, viral move. Man, that shit blew up with that double fist. He hit him with that one left one and then he hit him with that one right one. Or as they say in the Bible, turn the other cheek Early prelims that guy. But another interesting card in the prelim section is Curtis Blades versus Rizvan Kuniev, the heavyweight belt.
Alan:It's a heavyweight. Curtis Blades is just coming out of getting TKO'd by Tom Aspinall. Ouch, as we can see where Tom Aspinall is heading Maybe to a Jon Jones fight hopefully Everybody cross your fingers, Anyway. So he's going to be fighting. It should be. I don't really know that Rizvan guy, but it should be good. After that we have Amanda Lemos on that card versus Yasmin Lucindo, and that should be a really great fight.
Alan:That's in the strawweight division. Amanda Lemos was a former contender for that belt, so we'll see if she's trying to get back to the top, you know.
Harley:Yeah, I don't know if I've seen her fight.
Alan:I just know that she got bodied by Zhang Weili, my favorite female fighter, but she's fighting Yasmin Lucindo and she's 17 and 5 right now, so she's pretty good. And then another fight, bruno Silva versus Joshua Vann, in that prelims. And then we go to the main card Bobby King Green versus Mauricio Rufi. Mauricio Rufi we've seen him before. He put on a good show versus another, randy, and he was part of that fighting nerd squad, the fighting nerds, was.
Harley:He no longer is.
Alan:I believe he still is he's part of the fighting nerds squad, the guys who put on those nerdy glasses and whatnot.
Harley:Yeah.
Alan:Fighting a pretty vicious veteran, bobby King Green. Bobby King Green, we recently saw him lose. He got choked out by Patty Pimlet, patty the baddie.
Harley:I don't know if I saw that fight, but yeah, I know I've seen a few clips about it.
Alan:He got choked out and he got put to sleep. He went out on his shield and went to sleep, as he liked to say. Then we got Jalen Turner, who just got added to the card, I guess versus Ignacio Bahamondes and Jalen Turner. I really like Jalen Turner. He has a pretty good fighting style, but he's been taking a couple Ls trying to do that walk-off knockout that he's trying to do walk-off knockout that he's trying to do, which is funny because he, he actually bodied king green pretty viciously on a fight.
Alan:Yeah, funnily enough it was considered a bad stoppage in the sense that the ref let it go oh, pretty good while, where he just kept wailing on bobby king like right in the back of the head, like dang looking at the ref, like what Jalen Turner's going to be fighting on that card versus Ignacio Bahamondes. Both of them should be a pretty exciting fight as far as the energy goes. And then we got a fight that I am very, very excited about.
Harley:Oh yeah, the bloodbath.
Alan:And I think someone's going to go out on this one, Someone's going to get body bagged and in fact they're going to have that medical staff like cage side, like ready.
Harley:Yeah, like ready and waiting, there's going to be a lot of blood on the mat. That night.
Alan:Yeah, for sure it's going to bein gaethje versus dan hooker and uh, we're gonna see if anybody decides to play some defense on this one, let's just play some defense to see how far we could go. Yeah, but it's crazy, the usc made this a five rounder, bro.
Harley:It's like they really intended on some seeing someone get bodied on this one now I'm looking at the card on espn and it's showing justin with a belt over his shoulder. What belt would that be?
Alan:so that's the picture that actually when he had the bmf belt before max holloway took it. I don't know why they have that picture there, but um yeah, former former BMF champion Justin Gaethje versus Dan the Hangman Hooker.
Harley:Gotcha.
Alan:And those guys. They have a very hard-nosed fighting style and they'll take it to you. Just look up the fight between Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier. Dude, just look up the punch sounds on that one Insane bro.
Harley:Yeah.
Alan:And the nasty combos. And just look up any Justin Gaethje fight and you'll see that he's a dog man, one of the biggest dogs in the UFC. In fact, he's a really great BMF. To me, man, he's a bad mother. All right, guys, we have a major ufc bomb. Dan hooker announced that he will not be fighting justin gaethje on that march 8th card. Apparently he injured his hand and he will not be able to make it. But fret not, we do have a replacement fight. Justin Gaethje, having that dog in him, of course, said I'm the real BMF and I'm gonna fight anybody. And so replacement fight Justin Gaethje versus Rafael Fazeev.
Alan:2. That's a rematch from March 2023 that they had, where Justin Gaethje won that by majority decision. From what I remember, that was a great fight, very high volume, very technical. Fazeev was killing them with them body shots and also it's kind of a controversial decision. For the most part, some people think that justin gaethje won, some people think that fazeev won, but whatever side of the fence you're on, that was an amazing matchup and I think this is going to be another great fight, even though Fazeev has been on a layoff for a good while I don't know, like nearly two years layoff. Oh my god, I don't know, but should be an amazing matchup.
Alan:Again. Justin Gaethje versus Fazeev too. That's going to be on that March 8th card. But regardless of who's fighting Justin Gaethje, justin Gaethje's that dog and he said he'll fight anybody and it don't matter, and that's why he is a true BMF for sure. And after that UFC news bomb, we're going to go ahead and continue with the rest of the episode. And then we got the main fight of the night for that light heavyweight belt Alex Poatan Pereira versus Magomed Ankalaev.
Alan:And that's going to be a guaranteed banger bro.
Harley:Yeah, it's going to be crazy to see those two fight. They have similar, but still very different to each other. I mean fighting styles.
Alan:It's funny.
Harley:I think their stance and all that is considered orthodox and they both are known to hit really hard and all that jazz, to hit really hard and all that jazz, but the uh, just their, their methodology of how they go about finding their, their strikes, and all that does seem to be fairly different yeah, even though a lot of people are worried about magomed ankalaev's wrestling in this fight, and see if that's going to be his tool against alex, I will say uh, ankalaev likes to consider himself a kickboxer first Among you know.
Alan:obviously, his takedowns are a lot more prevalent than Alex's, but it's going to be a really exciting fight between them, for sure.
Harley:Oh for sure. Looking at the tail of the tape on them, it's interesting to note that Alex has a 100% takedown accuracy, because he's never done it. I did notice that, and Magomedov has a 31.25, which is honestly pretty low for someone who's considered to be so much more well-rounded and accomplished within the wrestling.
Alan:And I think that's why, kind of, the odds are pretty even on this one, even given that so many people consider Ankalaev this wrestler because he's Russian. I don't think unless he really gets a lot of those calf kicks is when he's really going to try to shoot for takedowns. I think he's going to try to keep this on the feet, man.
Harley:I think he's going to try to keep it on the feet. I did not know that he had a history with kickboxing, so that sounds promising in that. That's what he says he likes you might really try to bring that in and showcase his skills against. Uh, well accomplished exactly kickboxer.
Alan:Yeah, maybe that's going to be. His game plan is just keeping it on the feet and see where that goes, and alex for him, he's got to try to keep an eye on all, uh all the strategies absolutely and and any way it happens, it's going to be an interesting fight, just whatever strategy, it'll be interesting how Ankalaev tackles the challenge.
Alan:Yeah, I mean he's got two weapons to look out for, two major weapons that calf kick and that left hook and we'll see what he plans to do, like everybody's thinking whether he's going to do wrestling or not. Just look at him versus Rakic, the previous fight.
Alan:That was a great fight that he really kept standing Not too many like takedown attempts and whatnot, and I think he did that on purpose to kind of showcase that he's not this one-dimensional fighter, and that's one thing that Alex has to look out for really Absolutely Like I know that. One interesting thing that I want to note is online on social medias, you can find clips for this camp, for this fight Ankelaev, training doing all this and that those short clips that they do sometimes. Okay, and then you've got a lot of clips right now of alex just traveling the world and, you know, doing those side missions that he likes to do.
Harley:Yeah, and recently ankle I have even commented on that and he said look look at me, I'm doing all this hard work training and look at alex just parting it up and whatnot to be fair, you don't really need to spend all that much time partying or traveling even to get a lot of clips to share, and, frankly, for all we know, some of those were from six to eight months ago, and he's just being silent about his actual training camp. That's not the first time that's happened, though.
Alan:Yes, and Alex even commented, and no, it wasn't just chama, I'm sure she got translated or whatever that he is training, he is training, so don't worry about it, you know basically, yeah, it'd be insane for him not to yeah I? I don't know, but he is training and I know that he's probably training on his takedown defense so he can keep it on the feet where it's probably more favored in his realm.
Alan:So that's definitely going to be a freaking banger Coming from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. That's going to be March 8th, ufc 313, Pereira versus Ankalaev. What a card, and honestly, I think that all the fights are going to be really exciting on this one, because even the prelims got a couple bangers in that one.
Harley:Absolutely.
Alan:And even the early prelims has the double-fisted guy. So we'll see if he gets double-fisted again. Wouldn't that be crazy if he gets double-double-fisted, double, double, doubleed, double double, double that would be wild.
Alan:That's like four fists times double no, that'd just be four oh, I'm not good with math, but I do know that that's going to be a banger of a card, so make sure to tune in on march 8th. And then we got some UFC drama Sean Strickland and his coach, eric Nicksick and we got a couple videos to share about that. We got Eric Nicksick's comments that he went on to Ariel Helwani's show and did a podcast interview stating that basically, that he was unhappy with Sean Strickland's performance at UFC 312 versus Dricus Du plessis.
Harley:Alrighty, let's hop into that. And just so everyone's aware, it's the Ariel Helwani show on YouTube and we're just skipping on ahead to 2.09 just to kind of keep things concise. Starting that now.
Eric:Israel. I thought it was like the place to be. Um, I was very happy about that situation, getting getting back out there to fight um and then getting the rematch of Drikus. You know, I think there was things that that you know we worked on all camp that were that were better than the last time around. Um, we had a feel of what Drikus was going to implement, you know. So I was very excited for it, man. So, just for that type of performance, it was just very underwhelming.
Eric:There was some talk about his arm and whether that was a staph infection. A what can you tell us about the arm? And B do you think that affected him in any way?
Eric:You know it certainly doesn't help, but yeah, he. So he had staff a couple weeks um prior to us leaving, that's crazy. Yeah, he confirmed staff infection leading up to the last, like week and a half of training.
Eric:You know, traveling out there, his cardio felt fine, everything felt fine, so you know still, fine doesn't necessarily mean top of the game fine doesn't mean 100, no, but that's to me not the reason why he felt flat, so obviously that's how he feels, um, there's been a lot of criticism thrown his way, in large part because he's such a boisterous and and and kind of outspoken outlandish personality, but he also you know not just when talking about regular stuff, if you want to call it regular stuff, politics, all this stuff he says things like he's gonna fight to the death, and obviously that's not really what we saw he didn't fight to the death that the criticism is warranted.
Eric:Do you think that it has been fair?
Eric:Yeah, of course I do. I do, I mean mean, we have to be real, like it just. It just was a very underwhelming performance and an opportunity for to fight for a title. You know, there's people in this sport that never even realized that potential to ever even be an opportunity to fight for a championship. That shouldn't be enough to get you motivated to get you off the couch.
Alan:Great point yeah you know it.
Eric:Just it just to me was uh, we didn't, we didn't perform, you know. So that's all, it's on all of us, it's on me as a coaching staff, it's on john and and, uh, you know, I think he needs to evaluate what he wants to do in the sport. If it's, if it's just to make money, then that's, that's great, let us know. You know, I, I want to, I want to coach world champions. So my motivations are different, you know. So I think that you know, just just to kind of show up and do that and, and you know, not really back it up, just to me was just kind of uninspiring what is what is going through your mind as you're watching this unfold?
Eric:like you say, you travel all the way across the world. You're with the guy uh, second shot to to try to to beat this guy, to win back the belt and you can hear your frustration building. They kept going back to you in the corner and you're being brutally honest, you're telling him it's too predictable, you've got to go, you've got to get a finish. Every time it was building up. But as you're going back to the corner for those five minutes and you're watching this, what's going on inside? What are you thinking?
Eric:Just he's kind of checked out. That's kind of what I'm thinking. It's like, you know, you're grasping at straws at that point. You're just trying to get him to do something and, like you know, like my daddy's always saying in football, you've got to get something in the band playing right crowd and get motivated, get the momentum on your side again, you know. So I'm asking for anything. You know, the jab, the jab and the teep aren't going to win the fight.
Alan:The jab and the teep aren't going to win the fight. Yeah, and predictable offense is basically what he's talking about.
Eric:Yeah, and you get down by 30, you don't have the ability to come back and win those games right like you just don't have the ability to come back and win those games right like you just don't have the ability to come back and win those types of games. So you have to take risks. You have to make something creative happen. Um right and just jabbing and teething your way to, to a comeback when wasn't there? So it's like, dude, find the same side head kick yeah, ddp's defense was too solid for that kind of non-sonic type of fight.
Eric:It's the last nine rounds, you know, so we have to mix it up, Mm-hmm nine rounds.
Alan:That's how many rounds they fought collectively.
Eric:Are you feeling like in between rounds? Are you feeling that what you are saying is going through? Because at one point I kind of felt like he was getting mad at you. What did you make of that dynamic? And if your words were even reaching him?
Eric:No, what did you make of that dynamic? And if your words were even reaching him, um no, I felt like that's a typical sean corner, usually like he's just kind of hard to hard to like address, you know, like he's just kind of moves around, doesn't make a lot of eye contact, so there's times I'm like grabbing him, like hey man, look at me. But that that that's typical sean. That's when we're winning or losing, that's kind of him in the corner. So whether he was um not not listening or taking on the content that we were giving him was one thing, but no, I felt like he was listening and like he was responsive too. Like after one round I remember he was like I'm getting my timing, I got my timing and I'm like dude.
Alan:I'm going to go ahead and stop that there and I just want to go over some of his Eric Nicksick's comments. Yeah, just the last thing that he touched on. I like when they compare like coaches. I like when they compare MMA UFC to other sports and how it's so different. You know yeah. I definitely like how they compare and it's like compare and contrast, you know, and he touched upon predictable performance and how he had to change it up and not just, you know, jab and teep yeah and that's all he was trying to do and he wasn't really going for that finish and uh, that kind of just kind of ends.
Alan:Where we were talking about prior was sean strickland's performance yeah, and I mean I understand from Sean's perspective.
Harley:It probably was quite difficult to really nail down the appropriate time to actually like get some real good strikes in on DDP because he was being really I mean, he, it's hard to, it's hard to put into words Like he wasn't being predictable, but he was also not taking wild chances, so he wasn't leaving himself with a bunch of random wild openings that Sean could take advantage of.
Alan:He was keeping himself covered and playing a smart but still not exactly predictable game right, and what do you think about people commenting and saying that you know, this is kind of like airing some laundry on a national on a really big platform. Ariel hawani has a really big following, he's a great interviewer and eric nixick, kind of you know, put it out there that he's unhappy with Sean Strickland's performance that night and he was very poignant in saying that he only wants to train champions. What do you think about those kind of comments?
Harley:I mean, I can definitely see that perspective, but I think this situation, I don't think, is exactly that private. I mean you're showcasing your whole camp, you're showcasing your fight from the coach's perspective, you're showcasing your fighter, you're showcasing your abilities through your fighter.
Alan:Right.
Harley:And then, from Sean's perspective, you're showcasing not only your own capability, but you're also showcasing all the prep work and your whole corner exactly in the fight and I understand definitely some dynamics should be kept private but realistically, if one or both of them isn't exactly happy with the arrangement, it doesn't necessarily need to be private, and it's nice on the receiving end to have that little bit of insight into the background. So I mean, and he wasn't like smearing Sean, he wasn't saying that, oh, I gave him the perfect in camp and he was a shit-ass fighter and he needs to just stop fighting.
Harley:He wasn't dragging him through the mud, he was just genuinely saying, like he said, we need to find out if he's just in it for the money or if he really wants to win, because my goal is to have a winner effectively. Paraphrasing obviously he wants a world championship and, sean, I mean he might. But his performance doesn't exactly show that. You know, it shows more of a. I'm just going to keep doing my thing and hope it works.
Alan:Very reserved performance by Sean Strickland. However, he did have some comments of his own that he went ahead and released recently on social media as well, and so those are some of the comments. We'll go ahead and take a look, but I think we'll just hear it from the man himself. We'll hear it from Sean Strickland and see what he thinks about eric nixix comments and how he feels about that camp, which is some pretty surprising stuff for sure I haven't.
Harley:I haven't watched it yet myself, but you sent it to me and it's uh, combat news network and sean strickland.
Strickland:All right, guys, I'm tagging me about this whole eric thing and god damn it, because I like Eric, he's a friend of mine and he's going to continue to be a friend of mine. Will he probably be my corner? Probably not. We have so many great guys at Extreme Nate Ray, cepho. We have so many savages that I would love to corner me. But you know, man, that entire fight camp was just a struggle. Like it was a struggle. And, guys, we all have excuses as to why we didn't win or why we won and we shouldn't have won. We all have excuses and they don't matter.
Harley:The only reason why I'm making this video is because Eric had to go do a podcast and become an influencer, so now I gotta like, alright, gotta explain myself. To be fair, some reasons do matter.
Alan:Opportunity? I guess so, and not just with finding.
Strickland:Opportunity never comes when it's supposed to. It doesn't matter what the circumstances, what the situation is. You will never wake up and say no, today is the perfect day for opportunity, it will come at the worst time. It will come at the worst time, and how many times it comes and you raise your hand and you say you like, I'm ready. A lot of times you fail. A lot of the times you fail, but a lot of times you don't fail and it's like you must say yes, this is not an excuse. But that entire camp was just a struggle of I'm good, I'm good. No one will know when you're not good.
Strickland:I was in columbia, like eight weeks out, seven weeks out, and getting stem cells on a broken bone. Again, bone healed fine, no excuse. It just kind of weighs in the back of your head. I was training with that Ritter guy, this mission guy, and he hit me with a whizzer. It was already broken and I thought my arm snapped. I thought my arm snapped. I was like I got to go to Columbia, like this is. But all, all camp, this is just in the back of your head and like you just keep telling yourself I'm good and I think this is what all men do like. All men do this. Like you look in the mirror and like, even though you know you're not good, you're like I'm good, dude, you're a man you sack up, but all camp, you'd rather be. You know the staff infection, the broken arm.
Alan:So you just as a staff yeah, I mean it just sounds like a bunch of but all camp dude, whether it be, you know, the staph infection, the broken arm. So he addresses the staph infection.
Harley:Yeah, I mean it just sounds like a bunch of draining things.
Strickland:This entire camp was like a struggle of I'm not good, but me looking in the mirror and saying, sack up. And you know, man, no, nothing away from dry because you came here, fought his ass off, broke my nose Like dude. Hell yeah, man Like hats off.
Harley:I do like that. I've never seen him whine about a loss.
Alan:No.
Harley:That I definitely respect.
Strickland:He goes on a little tangent at this point, Like I didn't even know what like dignity was you know when I first started fighting? And kind of through fighting man like I've learned like so much. I've met so many amazing people Through the UFC and fighting and fight fans like you guys have and what do you think about those comments?
Alan:Because Sean Strickland, he had some pretty surprising comments about his camp and whether he wants Eric Nixick to still be in his corner and that's pretty crazy to me, you know just how things unfold after fights, yeah, and I mean it's.
Harley:I don't know a lot about coach and fighter relations, but I mean it kind of sounds like they're not maybe not directly at odds, but they have different goals at this point that he didn't. Sean didn't directly address whether or not he wants to be champion or make money, but from previous interviews that I've seen with sean, I think he does want to be champion I think he does admittedly, like he was mentioning, he had a.
Harley:He had a rough camp. I mean, if, if he had a, a boogered up arm and staff infection, it just seems like he had not, not, not excuses, but he had legitimate reasons that he wasn't in top form. I can appreciate that he still came and fought and he really did put forth the effort.
Harley:It's not like he was slacking off, but I think he genuinely just didn't have the pep in his step, if you will. He just didn't have that internal fire. His fire was being directed to keeping him going rather than to kicking ass and taking names.
Alan:Right, and that night hats off to Drikas. He kind of gave him his flowers as well. Absolutely.
Eric:Which is great yeah.
Alan:Which is great to see whether or not Eric Nixick does stay as Sean Strickland's coach. Sean Strickland's coach, I mean a lot of, not a lot of, but some fighters do say that after a loss like that, maybe switching camps and changing it up could help it. Just maybe we'll see a different Sean Strickland and we'll see where he goes on with his career.
Harley:Yeah, I would like to see him grow.
Alan:Absolutely.
Harley:As a fighter. I mean he showed that he has a really solid base.
Alan:Absolutely.
Harley:For fighting.
Alan:An orthodox.
Harley:Yeah, an orthodox, and Strickland does have good takedown defense and he obviously is usually really good at finding holes in people's defenses and taking advantage of them.
Alan:Wearing people down, yeah.
Harley:But that's not all there is to fighting. So I would like to see him grow, you know, become a more rounded fighter, perhaps not necessarily go for takedowns all the time but, it would be interesting to see him, see him take at least a couple. But even even barring that, it would be interesting to see him do some serious, different kinds of striking, I should say, rather than just the constant jab, jab, jab.
Alan:Jab and teep. Yeah, jab and teep's not going to win you that championship.
Harley:Three jabs and a teep. Three jabs and a teep, yes.
Alan:In the words of Islam Makachev two or three years, send him to Dagestan and forget, and we'll see a completely different Deshaun Strickland, you know.
Harley:Two or three years, dagestan forget Two or three years Dagestan and forget.

But the worst date of my life, back when I was single and on dating apps, I matched with this guy and he's super cute. He had a shirtless mirror selfie, which was usually a hard pass. For me that's a red flag, come on now. But he seemed sweet, slash, nerdy, so I talked to him. He tells me how he's really worked hard on his body and because he was heavy growing up and really awkward with women and I'm thinking, ah, he doesn't realize he's hot, quote-unquote Anyway, I'm hope sick that week and bored. So we message a lot and even FaceTime and he's quirky but and kind of funny. He seems to be pretty smart. He's working for a biotech firm and applying to PhD programs. He tells me about how he has a daughter back home in Illinois and that she was a result of a one-night stand with a friend.
Harley:Oh boy.
Alan:That the friend didn't tell him he had a daughter until she had, the daughter was already five jeez and that he barely gets to see her because she's being raised by the mom's friend. It's a pretty interesting story there.
Harley:We wanted sounding more and more complicated.
Alan:Yeah, it sounds more red flags.
Harley:Yeah.
Alan:We wanted to meet soon and, in parentheses, I just like talking too much before meeting. But, like I said, I was sick, mm-hmm, and I agreed to a late night movie because it was a midweek. Because it was midweek and neither of us had a ton of time and we talked so much already, I kind of just wanted to be physically in the same room to see if there was any chemistry.
Harley:Reasonable reasonable.
Alan:We met at a theater and had a couple drinks at the movie and it was fine and I was attracted. Second date is okay, but I'm feeling a little off. Something just feels funny and I'm thinking this isn't going to be more than a friend's thing. Something gave her some weird vibes. We end up going to his place to watch blade runner and I'm uncomfortable within the first couple minutes oh no his apartment has weird vibes like super disorganized and he's hung an old beach towel on the wall as decoration.
Harley:That's odd WTF, unless it's covering up something.
Alan:Strange. We sit down and start the movie and I'm getting more and more uneasy. He right away leans over to kiss me and kiss back, but then I tell him whoa, I'm not ready for that, and can we please slow it down? He says that's fine and stops the movie. What I look at him like, what huh? He then proceeds to tell me he's in love with me. Whoa, wow. Within the first couple minutes of being in his apartment.
Harley:This is the third quote unquote date Second date Second date oh, I thought they had a second date and then agreed to the movie date.
Alan:This is the second date and he is definitely giving some strange vibes. He tells me he's in love with me and he's dumped his longtime fiancee, who lives in Illinois, to be with me.
Harley:What.
Alan:And that he would like us to move in together as soon as possible.
Harley:The hell.
Alan:And try to have a baby.
Harley:Ah, I think his story about his other child is perhaps entirely misleading.
Alan:I think he's joking at first but quickly realize he isn't. He asks me if I will say I'm his girlfriend out loud, which I do because I remember the true crime. Movies I watch, shows I watch, and I don't want to want him to murder me.
Harley:I don't want him to murder me I hate that that's funny, but it is I feel like that yeah, seriously messed up that, that's a thing horrible.
Alan:I feel like I show him. If I show him, I'm scared he's going to freak out. He then asked me oh man. He then asked me if I'm ovulating right now, what?
Alan:the hell, because it turns him on in all caps yeah, the vibes were definitely right, not right that night wow I fake yawn and I tell him boy, I'm exhausted and it's a work night and I really want to see him tomorrow, so I'm just going home and get some rest. He looks totally crestfallen but says okay, but before you go, will you do me a favor? Oh, at that point I think I'm about to be murdered. Oh god. I say um, what is it? He asks will you stand in front of a mirror with me so that I can see how beautiful we look together?
Harley:oh god absolutely terrified.
Alan:At this point I walked to his room in parentheses stupidly, but I'm trying to placate him because my gut feeling was that he was likely not a murderer, just insane, and that's best case scenario doesn't take much for insane to switch over to that point, though we walk into his room and it is a disaster, disgusting piles and piles of clothes everywhere and we stand in front of a mirror briefly and then I say I really have to go grab my bag and refuse offer his offer to walk me to my car. I then straight up run to my car I got home and checked my phone and what there was was shocking oh no several video texts of him touching himself, which were absolutely horrifying.
Alan:I shudder thinking of them. I now realize that the reason he isn't in his daughter's life is probably because the mother realized he was disturbed and she had a very good reason to keep him in the dark.
Alan:I get nauseated just thinking about him and, honestly, I quit dating for a while and never put myself in another situation like that again for her own health and safety, I'd say that's probably a good idea that is traumatizing yeah very traumatizing and, you know, just for people out there dating and doing that online dating, be careful and maybe shit I'm I'm paranoid so maybe I'm gonna do a background check, you know, because I, yeah, I don't want to get murdered and especially not be another statistic of that online murder stuff. I'm not trying to be on those, those shows yeah I'm not trying to be on the show no victim or perpetrator, neither side I don't want to be on any of those shows at all, so some of the comments that are very poignant.
Alan:They're actually followed up by the op, okay and uh. First comment is by know your darkness. She says oof, that is such a big yikes. I'm really glad you managed to get out of there safely. Was there any follow-up after that date? At his place? He sounds like the type to keep sending messages and text or turn up at your house out of the blue or something. Moral of the story is always trust your gut and never like the guy with the shirtless selfie red flag yeah and the OP comments back says no follow up.
Alan:I got home and felt scared for hours. When I got the disgusting text, I blocked him and then almost wish I had him because I was afraid he would even find me, even though he didn't know where I lived. It was f***ing terrifying understandably in second hand.
Alan:Just hearing about it it sounds terrifying and also another comment that was pretty poignant about how she got through that scenario was by Imaginary-Horse. How terrifying. Thank goodness you were able to stay calm and, quote unquote, play along so as to not rile him. Well done, and you probably saved your own life that night. Well done, and you probably saved your own life that night by playing along, which is a smart thing to do for the most part, you know within reason.
Harley:Within reason yeah, for sure, and I'm glad she was able to get out of that, that scenario, unscathed yeah however traumatized and ptsd yeah, and I mean when you're dealing with someone who's unstable unless they're being outright violent from the get-go as long as you play along, it's usually a safe bet that you'll get out of it if you keep playing along within reason.
Alan:And it's just kind of scary that those kind of people have kids. Just a quick side note on that. Yeah, well, when they're in the kids' lives anyway, scary that those kind of people have kids. Just a quick side note on that.

Alan:He's not so it's probably not going to be as messed up yeah and uh yeah, just got to be careful on those dating apps. That's story to me absolutely so.
Harley:The next one I will do, and it is from the subreddit neighbors from hell. By snoozing 2020, and it's just simply titled, neighbor from hell got a new neighbor last year. I've owned my home since 2011. She's been harassing me ever since. She works for code enforcement and calls code enforcement on me and the neighborhood. She calls the cops on me for footprints in her yard. They aren't mine. She also told the cops there's tire tracks from my car leading to the road.
Alan:Wow.
Harley:I diagrammed how this is my property. It's nowhere close to hers, sheesh. She claims I damaged her water meter. I have pics of both water meters covered in undisturbed snow. Implication was I'm driving over her meter. I sent pics. There's zero tire tracks and the whole area is covered in snow from four days ago. Tire tracks don't come close to the meter. Day after calling the cops, she called code enforcement again.
Alan:Wow.
Harley:I can't even get a grasp of what exactly the complaint is. She yells and screams at my guests. On multiple instances she or her boyfriend, who is a cop, have come on my property Her to yell and scream him. He said I left a light on in my car so he looked in it through the windows to see if it seemed messed with. I reported all this to the police. After her report I told them I believe she's using government offices to harass me. On another occasion my 15-year-old, almost blind and deaf toy dog walked towards her property. We were right there. I told my kid to go grab the dog. Neighbor was kicking my old dog by that point scaring my child no way.
Harley:The dog is too old, he doesn't growl or bite, he's lost his teeth and she's standing there kicking him. My other neighbor, who also had problems with her, said she isn't allowed to kick my dog, even if he did inadvertently walk on her property. That's insane. Kicking a dog is insane.
Alan:I'm sorry, crazy.
Harley:Not in the story, but kicking a dog is insane. I'm sorry, that's seriously f***ed up.
Alan:I can't even imagine what I would do If the dog's attacking you, that's one thing.
Harley:But if it's just a little dog, especially a tiny one.
Strickland:What the hell are you doing?
Harley:I do recognize he's not supposed to go over there, but my daughter did go grab him as soon as he wandered that way, or at least tried to. Overall, what can I do? This woman is escalating issues and I don't know what her issues are. Calling cops and code enforcement over and over. Supposedly there's internal issues at code because they aren't citing us and she is saying they are giving us special treatment, but there aren't any violations to my knowledge. I don't know what her problem is. That is insane.
Alan:I know what her problem is. The problem is she's a bitch and she's a neighbor from hell.
Harley:People like that I just don't understand. You've got to be so wildly unhappy with your own life and so bored too.
Alan:Or disturbed.
Harley:Well, yeah, mentally disturbed. There is that, and it's scary that people like that are in positions of power vague of power, as it would be, or indirect of power, as it is, for code enforcement right still that's, that's crazy and uh.
Harley:so moving on with that, the top comment is by a sue in a2 and she simply says contact her supervisor and and the OP responded with that with I contacted her landlord today. Landlord responded and called, called, left A message sounded very agreeable. I said I was at the doctor and will call back when done. By that time the whole tune changed. Landlord said she was warned about me when she bought the house. I said well, I'm calling to understand and discuss any issues. How can I fix any concerns if you won't tell me what I've done? Landlord replied oh, I'm not going to drag up any hearsay because we haven't had any actual problem with you. I said so there's a problem. She's calling the cops and code enforcement over and over, but you won't tell me the problem because you don't have one with me, but I'm also the problem. Literally what she says is I also know the landlord. Since the call contacted my former neighbor who said in seven years she never had any issues with me at all. I got a screenshot.
Alan:So she got some receipts.
Harley:Yeah, she has the receipts. It's just mind-boggling to me the mindset of people who are just so consistently nasty and just looking for ways to ruin other people's lives.
Alan:That's horrible dude.
Harley:I mean, I've met someone who literally moved because of a neighbor from hell.
Alan:Yeah.
Harley:I don't know all the things that she did, but I guess the main of it for him was that she was literally bringing civil suits against him over and over Every time one finished.
Alan:Another one.
Harley:Within the month, a new one showed up, sheesh, but I don't think that's what's happening here.
Alan:But I think it's scary. It is scary to have people like that nearby, because you never know what they're going to do. And you never know about your neighbors. So I have another trippy story, and it's by ConfidentSecretary35. Another trippy story, and it's by confident secretary 35. Today I f***ed up by making my son think that santa's elf murdered the tooth fairy.
Harley:Oh, man.
Alan:It starts off posting this on behalf of my sister, as she just told me this ridiculous story. I I'm a 39-year-old female and my son, an 8-year-old, lost a tooth, so he put it under his pillow at bedtime for the tooth fairy. We're also doing the Elf on the Shelf this December. For those who aren't familiar, each night parents pose a Santa elf toy an elf on the shelf doing something cheeky to surprise the kids in the morning. So I guess they hide an elf on the shelf doing something cheeky to surprise the kids in the morning. So I guess they hide this elf on the shelf around, put it in a different shelf. So I had the great idea of pretending the elf tried to steal his tooth in the night. So I posed the elf in the lounge holding his missing tooth and the money he was expecting from the tooth fairy.
Alan:Then, when to bed, exhausted, I vaguely remember getting up to the toilet in the middle of the night, but I was sleepy so I didn't think much of it. Fast forward to morning time. When he wakes up, I tell him to find the elf. I, out of bed, then realize my period started last night and I'd leaked in the bed. So start to clean it up. Son goes to the lounge and sees the elf with the tooth and asks what they did to the tooth fairy. He then announces that he needs the loo, so I'm assuming they're uk yeah he goes to the bathroom and then I hear screaming, proper, terrified, screaming mom.
Alan:The elves murdered the tooth fairy. I run to the bathroom. There's blood all over the floor and in the toilet. I must have made a mess in the night without even realizing. That's how tired I was. He's pointing to the toilet now where you can see a bloody lump at the bottom of the bowl.
Harley:Interesting.
Alan:Screaming about how the elves murdered the tooth fairy and tried to flush her down the toilet. Poor kid, he's traumatized for life. Son is very upset that the tooth fairy is dead. I panic and tell him that she's not dead and they probably just had a fight and she'll be fine. These kinds of stories you have to make up for kids.
Alan:You should see the other guy. So the next night I decide to make it look like the tooth fairy came back to exact her revenge. I pose the elf tied up covered in glittery goo with a tiny sign prop against it, saying Don't worry, I taught the natty elf a lesson.
Harley:Mafia style.
Alan:He's sleeping with the fishes. When I picked my son up from school that day, he said that he told his class and the teacher how worried he was about that the elves had murdered the tooth fairy but that she fought back and was okay. I am now terrified that his teachers think I'm a psycho tldr. My period starts unexpectedly during the night. I accidentally leave blood in the bathroom. The same night pose the elf on the shelf as stealing my eight-year-old son missing tooth and money from the tooth fairy.
Harley:Son thinks the elf murdered the tooth fairy now on the uh to address the concern about what the teachers think to be fair. Teachers hear some very wild stories and I think they'll totally understand that if and when it ever is explained to them. It's a pretty reasonable series of events leading up to it.
Alan:I mean she's quick with it. Is it the right answer? I don't know, but she has some quick responses and some quick thinking. She's thinking on her feet, as they say.
Harley:Yeah.
Alan:And it's funny because I know that he's going to be thinking about that for a long time and that's something that maybe his mom could probably bring up later. Like you used to think that elves killed the tooth fairy.
Harley:You used to think that elves killed the tooth fairy. Yeah, when he brings his girlfriend over later in life, exactly, she can bring that up at the dinner table to mess with him.
Alan:Exactly, that is a pretty trippy story for sure. I like how she saved it and I hope that it's something that they. That's not a negative thing for him. Yeah, that's not a negative thing for him, yeah.
Harley:Now I have another one, and this is actually just a post, I don't even know where from, because it's a screenshot of the post Anonymous. And it says while playing Roller Coaster Tycoon one time, I remember that I was tasked with the mission of getting a higher approval rating. And it says Since, technically, those people died in my rival's park, their approval rating would plummet and people would rush to my park and straight onto the death coaster, which only caused their rating to drop lower and lower. I did this for an hour Until the game said I had won. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I can never be given Any modicum of power Ever.
Alan:Wow, he just becomes an engineer of those rights? A murder engineer, let's just have the people get launched to their cars in the parking lot. We'll call it People Valley.
Harley:Oh, no, no.
Alan:Full Cindy, but wow.
Harley:Uh, no, no, full cindy, but wow in one of the comments, uh says uh, isn't that how most humans operate? If I can't do better, I'll make sure you do worse yeah, capitalism, yeah, capitalism. Sabotageism.
Alan:Yeah, this is how you sabotage people. You just toss other people to other people.
Harley:Yeah, that usually helps. Then another one says Chris Sawyer I guess he was instrumental for Rollercoaster Tycoon could never have anticipated this occurring while he was slamming X86 assembly together to make Roll coaster tycoon 2 that's the guy who probably made the game.
Alan:Uh, I don't know if that was what he was intending, probably not.
Harley:Let's make people launchers yeah, oh, and another person very similar to what you said capitalism in a nutshell yeah, there you go.
Alan:Those are some crazy comments, man. I mean, if you can't beat them, skeet them or yeet them, in this case if you can't beat them, sabotage them. Yeah, that's the way to do it, especially when you're playing roller coaster tycoon, I guess anyway, that was just a quick one.
Harley:To follow that up. I have one, a, from the subreddit petty revenge by far orchid 1683. The title is you gave me a weird gift, I will give you an even weirder one. Oh, I have two pet rats and I love them so much. I've had them for two years now and I would literally sacrifice my life for either of them. As a side note, that is mildly insane, but pet owners tend to be that way. Pet rats at least. They don't have a rat building no, or ratatouille, maybe either ratatouille.
Harley:I like that movie getting back to this, my friend ashley has a boyfriend called keith. Keith is one of those pet owners, the ones who don't believe anything under 15 centimeters validates as a true or real pet.
Harley:Fishes, reptilians, amphibians but we'll make fun of people who have larger, bulkierier pets, some breeds of dogs. When I first was introduced to him about a year and a half ago, he seemed okay, until I mentioned that I just got my second pet Rat and he immediately made fun of me, saying that my pets were dirty, gross and what made me the most upset? Just some cat food. For new years. I invited my closest friends and gave them a plus one or two and ended with 15 people, one of them being keith. I knew this, so I let my aunt babysit my rats for that night, just in case he would pull something. As I was welcoming people in, he handed me a wrapped up present. I thought it might be chocolates or some food for tonight, but inside was mousetraps. He said that it would handle my rat problem and I should get myself a real pet.
Harley:I had a full plan in motion. Ashley told me that Keith wasn't good at making her pleased sexually and his you know what wasn't of average size, so I thought what would be a Whoa? It's like a little over seven and three quarters.
Alan:Interesting Inches.
Harley:Added to my cart and a note inside that said maybe this will solve your problems, and a smiley face next to it. I gave it to him on his birthday in front of his girlfriend and one of my friends and wrapped it up, so the shape wasn't so obvious. I would have assumed he'd open it after his party, but I'm happy he didn't. The face of shock I saw on his face was an early birthday present for my rats and I his oh God. Edit.
Harley:A few days ago my oldest rat, munch, passed away I was extremely sad, since she was my first and didn't take my meds for three days because of it, and in parentheses I completely forgot and just wanted to to dissolve into a blob at that point. Plus, I forget to take them when I have stronger emotions. I don't know why I am confiding this to a bunch of people who don't know me, but I hope she's chilling with other rats in Rat Heaven. Also, keith and Ashley broke up. I don't know who kept the strap on, though.
Alan:Rat Heaven is in New York. That's where they go. Oy vey, I don't think that's that heaven. There's people cooking them on the streets. They're getting cooked. Man, just like the boyfriend got cooked. Oh man, he got cooked he got cooked real hard.
Harley:The top comment says man, I wish I had your patience. What a great method yeah, he's devious that's.
Alan:That's very devious and a super solid way of getting back that's all with a present, just like he did, and yeah I'm about to save that in my pocket for later. I mean, that's the way to get somebody. It's devious and, uh, you have to give in to your animalistic side in order to get that done.
Harley:But admittedly I mean yeah, it would. That is technically a petty revenge, it's not a nuclear revenge for sure.
Alan:It's pretty petty, but I will say he's defending his pet and he kept disrespecting his pet man. It's like you know what if it was like an iguana or any other animal? If someone's making fun of your animal, it's pretty hurtful. Other animal if someone's making fun of your animal, it's it's pretty hurtful. And then he did that. You know pretty facetious.
Harley:Uh, joke on him with the rat stuff you know, like mousetraps and whatnot, definitely in poor taste definitely in poor taste to somebody that it seems like he doesn't really know.
Alan:He didn't really know this gentleman and this guy's already trying to make some funny comments about it and whatnot.
Harley:You know, I'm betting this the poster's a female just because their friend ashley confided sexual things to them crazy yeah usually a female friend. But anyway, that's just speculation because it's not put in the post and I looked at the person's page and I don't see any specific mentions of gender.
Alan:Right, but great petty revenge story and that was super trippy. I like that. She got her W at the end or the poster got their W at the end, for sure.
