One innocent sentence from a four-year-old can turn a normal dinner into a true-crime misunderstanding. We kick things off with a Reddit parenting story that goes spectacularly wrong: a dad tries to keep Far Cry 5 non-violent for his kid, invents a silly “spanking game” in-game, and then watches his daughter proudly tell a waiter, “My dad plays the spanking game with me.” The silence after that line is doing all the work, and we break down why context is everything and why kids always repeat the one phrase you wish they wouldn’t.

Then we jump into a fast-moving Reddit grab bag of hot takes, confessions, and crowd-sourced wisdom: what used to signal “wealthy” but now signals “poor,” a petty revenge tale that weaponizes one tiny stitch, and a tricky relationship question about weight gain where the real answer lives in support, health, and habits instead of shame. We also argue whether ordering pasta at a restaurant is basically paying $30 for noodles, and how learning simple cooking fundamentals can change what you’re willing to spend.

The back half gets even more fun and oddly thoughtful: a work from home loophole that ends calls with rude customers, a list of non-swearing insults that still land, and a conversation about AI, filters, and why hyper-polished “perfect” content might make us crave human imperfection again. We wrap with god-tier superpowers used for petty gaslighting and an anime question you’ll want to answer: if you were dropped into your favorite anime as a regular person, would you survive or be cooked?

Episode Welcome And Reddit Grab Bag

SPEAKER_02

Welcome everyone to another great episode of Peak Points. Today we have a Reddit grab bag, special episode for everyone, and uh this one to me seems like it's gonna be a fun one. Uh we hope you guys think so as well. Harley?

The Spanking Game Restaurant Shock

SPEAKER_03

Without further ado, let's start with today I effed up. This is by Euchre 317. Today I effed up by playing the spanking game. For some context, I play Far Cry 5. If you haven't played it, the basic premise is that you're fighting an insane cult to free the local community with hunting and other side activities mixed in. When my four-year-old is watching me play, I try to avoid filling the screen with people getting shot in the face, so instead, I run around with a melee weapon and smack the local wildlife, mostly predators, on the rear end, and then sprint away while they chase me. My daughter thinks this is the funniest thing she has ever seen, and has affectionately dubbed it the spanking game. Fast forward to today. We're sitting in a restaurant when our waiter comes over, introduces himself, and before I can say a single word, my daughter looks him dead in the eyes and proudly announces My dad plays the spanking game with me. No way. The poor guy froze. I froze. Time itself froze. Oh my word. Now I'm desperately trying to explain that I'm not playing some bizarre game with my child, and I'm playing a video game about fighting an evil cult. Except instead of shooting cultists while she's watching, I spend my time running around smacking black bears on the butt with a shovel because my daughter thinks it's hilarious. No. I don't think my explanation helped. I'm pretty sure the waiter wrote down my license plate number before I even got to the check. TLDR. I tried to be a responsible parent by avoiding violent gameplay in front of my daughter. Instead, I accidentally taught her that we play the spanking game. And she proudly informed a complete stranger that my dad plays the spanking game with me. No way. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

The spanking game.

SPEAKER_03

Uh huh. Oh man. I think the top comment pretty much encapsulates the uh the premise of this by Butter Giggly. This is the most innocent yet horrifyingly misunderstood confession I've ever read.

unknown

Man.

SPEAKER_03

To make it more bizarre for the stranger is just how clearly giddy the four year old most likely was, or happy at very first.

SPEAKER_02

And time stopped. Wow. Oh boy. Master of his own demise there.

SPEAKER_00

Indeed.

Wealthy Then Poor Status Symbols

SPEAKER_02

And uh mine is gonna be an Ask Reddit.

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy.

SPEAKER_02

By Corvus Noctus. And some of these are funny, so I'll read them out to you. Uh what is something that used to be a sign of being wealthy? But now is a sign of being poor or low class. Some of these are funny.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, some of those will be funny.

SPEAKER_02

By authentic platypus, living on the lower floors of an apartment building before elevators were invented. Poor people had to climb the stairs all the way to the top. Too much work for rich people. Yeah. Having a tan, especially in the winter, means you could afford tropical vacations or tanning beds. In Asian countries, having a tan means your broke ass is always in the sun. Yep. Oh man.

SPEAKER_03

Very true.

SPEAKER_02

And this one, very true as well. Back in the days, being fat. In medieval times, being fat meant you could afford a lot of food making you rich. Nowadays, rich people have personal trainers and chefs to try to make them have ideal health. While lower class people can only afford fattening fast food. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that one really has flipped.

SPEAKER_02

Canned meat used to be a thing only well off people could afford. Now poor people buy it because they can't afford real meat.

SPEAKER_03

I mean it is real meat, but yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Is it really?

SPEAKER_03

It is.

SPEAKER_02

And by steel creed, blackened teeth. In Tudor England, teeth turning black meant you were eating a lot of sugar, a rare and expensive commodity at the time. Now it's just a sign that you're British. In parentheses. That's mean. I am British. I can make this joke.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that one's funny. And mean.

SPEAKER_02

And last one by Gimme New Account just simply says store bought Halloween costumes. Interesting. Interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, if you could go to the store and buy a Halloween costume way back in the day, that was expensive. That was mass they weren't mass-produced slop back then. Granted, usually they would also be tailored or whatnot, but typically you had to have the average family had to have mom make you your costume.

SPEAKER_02

Or you be a ghost. A sheet and open eye holes.

SPEAKER_03

Pretty much.

Laundry Room Petty Revenge Snips

SPEAKER_03

Alright, now my next one for this grab bag is from Petty Revenge. Oof by Wake Me Up 3000. Seems to be a problem with the wash. Spelled S-E-A-M. Hmm S Years ago I worked with a woman who had a picture perfect family. Mom, dad, three beautiful boys very involved in family activities. Well, until dad hit a midlife crisis and pulled the plug on the marriage. As things played out, she ended up losing the house to him and the boys stayed in the house so they could continue in their school. It was heartbreaking to watch. Of course, because it was a midlife crisis, he moved in someone who was a lot younger but had zero idea of how to do anything around the house. Ex hubby wasn't used to doing anything either, and my coworker was upset that her boys weren't being cared for. One day she was at the house and decided to show the boys how to change their linen and run the washer and dryer so that they could do their own clothes. She saw a mound of dirty clothes in the laundry room and decided to get some petty revenge. She used the scissors in the laundry room to cut exactly one stitch in the side seam or underarm of a few of the girlfriend's shirts and sweaters. She snipped a single stitch at the elastic of underwear, single stitch in the bra bands. Then, when the boys arrived with their laundry, she showed them how to separate clothes and include everyone's dirty clothes in the load. Weeks later, the boys mentioned how girlfriend was upset because her clothes seemed to be getting damaged in the wash. She did that a few more times over the course of six months that girlfriend lived there. Petty as hell. I mean, I I would imagine that would be incredibly maddening for the girlfriend to be having that constantly happen and no explanation as to why.

SPEAKER_02

Going crazy.

unknown

I'm losing my mind.

SPEAKER_03

And to be fair, it's it's not the girlfriend's fault, but I understand the uh the coworker slash mother in the situation wanting to exact revenge some way. I don't really have any great comments on this one, but uh a general overview of most of them is uh to sum it up would be stay faithful and just don't be p awful.

SPEAKER_02

Don't be awful. Uh everybody needs to hear that part.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, half of 'em are attributing the awful to the person who is doing the s the snipping of the stitch, but genius. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And next for my grab bag under R slash no stupid questions.

Kind Ways To Talk Weight

SPEAKER_02

Oh boy. And this is a pretty stupid question. Uh by 2006, Crown Victoria P71. There's no kind way to tell my wife that she's getting too big, is there?

SPEAKER_03

Uh, there is definitely kind ways to say it. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

But can be a slippery slope. Depends on what kind of relationship you have.

SPEAKER_02

I fully expect down votes, because Reddit, but I've been married to my wife for 24 years. I love her very much. Her weight has fluctuated, and she's always been a little on the heavy side, and that's fine. Over the last year she's ballooned up a lot. He didn't have to capitalize that, man. Though I don't know how I don't know her exact weight, but I'd guess somewhere between two twenty, two fifty. And she's very short. We used to take lots of walks, and now she's getting more and more sedentary. My problem is that she's very sensitive and I don't want to hurt her. My job is physically demanding and I don't exercise, but I have tried to show interest in it so we can do it together for health, quote unquote. We eat fairly well and rarely eat fast food or junk food, so there isn't much I can do there. I've quickly lost all physical attraction her, but I don't want to hurt her. There isn't anything more I can do without hurting her, is there?

SPEAKER_03

Edit. Oh my god, there's so many things you can do, but let's let's hear.

SPEAKER_02

The amount of replies is crazy. I appreciate all the advice. One correction I need to add is that her health is obviously my number one concern. I don't know what my world would be without her. I've been with her since we were teenagers. I don't know who I would be without her. I don't know how many of you I can or I'm going to reply to, but know that I appreciate a lot of the advice. I will tell you there are a lot of you, and I'm going to listen. Uh I will definitely try to push us exercising more together and research pre-menopause more. So the comments or obviously throwing this guy in the blender.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, there's always gonna be that.

SPEAKER_02

Um but at the end of the day, like, yeah, I mean, if you're trying to be health conscious and you know you want to keep this person in your life for a long time for the long haul, so they say uh maybe we should look out for our health. And uh I agree with the commenters, is like don't push it, but you have to be a part of it. You have to be supportive in that role. Yeah. At least I think so. It it always helps to have like a helping hand towards a uh a girl, right?

SPEAKER_03

And to reinforce the the positives, like if she eats something healthy one day, you gotta really not harp on, but you've you've gotta like really emphasize how great you think that was. Or an aspect of her that you like you emphasize and they subconsciously will try to emphasize that, and you can use that to grow them into the direction that they need to go for their own health if they're too sensitive to approach directly.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Yes, and it's hard to find the motivation. I know for sure it's really hard to to think ten steps ahead and find that motivation and do something about it, but uh it's it's good to start being health conscious, I think, man, you know. Um just at least a little by little. And um one thing I want to impress is that once you do something for two weeks or so, uh it it starts to become a habit. So sometimes you could form good habits that way.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely, yeah. And given that this person is his world, this woman, his wife, then it shouldn't be too big of an ask for him to devote lots of time and energy to figuring out what things to strategically ask for or try to develop into a routine. And honestly, another aspect you can approach in a situation like this would be to approach it from a purely medical sense. That you know, this person they said they've been married for 24 years or together for 24.

SPEAKER_02

Uh it says here, married for 24 years.

SPEAKER_03

Married for 24. So most likely they are in their forties.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Somewhere about there.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe 50s. Yeah, since they knew each other since they were teenagers.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. So I mean that's that's a a perfectly valid medical um expectation in your forties is to start really focusing on on the health, on correcting your daily habits for better heart health, the better cholesterol, all that jazz.

SPEAKER_02

The older you get, the more health conscious you should be. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Not that you need to not be health conscious when you're young to set the foundation, but it gets more and more important, more and more directly obvious, I should say. When you're lacking in a certain aspect the older you get.

Why Pasta Prices Feel Like Scams

SPEAKER_03

And next to move on, let's go with honest hot takes by Coffeeholic ninety one. Ordering pasta at a restaurant is a scam A knew it. I swear to God, every restaurant you go to has pasta on the menu and the dish is like thirty dollars. Why is it thirty dollars? It's literally noodles with sauce and maybe some meat. Bro, I love pasta. I have gone to nice Italian restaurants that make good pasta, but I literally could just make pasta at home in the ten minutes it takes to cook the noodles, and it will be eighty to ninety percent as good as the thirty to forty dollar plate I ordered at the restaurant. You can make a good homemade sauce in five minutes, and it's just as good, if not better, than what you order at a restaurant. Save yourself thirty dollars. If you want pasta, make it at home. Add a f ton of butter, cream, and oil. That's all they do at the restaurants anyway, and it will taste the exact same as a restaurant.

SPEAKER_02

Hmm. I don't think it's uh an indefinite hot take, but I definitely get where they're coming from. Yeah. Um, you know, I've adopted this for sure, being that uh coming from a very large city, you know, Los Angeles, and having options in abundance. Uh-huh. Um and now it's like limited options, and I want to eat the things that I like. I have to learn to make those on my own and experiment. For sure. This is great advice that I would add. Um experiment with stuff, stuff that you like. Try to make it yourself, stuff that you've had at a restaurant, maybe. Uh-huh. Um, but I will also add with the caveat that I don't think people entirely go to restaurants to specifically eat pasta. Most of the time it's for ambiance to just get out of the house. True. For uh dinners and stuff like that, you know, with your significant get together. Um various things, but I definitely see where they're coming from.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Yes. Uh this is especially pertinent to me in that I recently went to an Italian restaurant after not going to an Italian restaurant for like probably four years. No way. And I was so horribly disappointed. Underwhelmed. I was like, I make better pasta than this.

SPEAKER_02

Uh and you're a good cook, man.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I don't even like hand make my own pasta. I just use store-bought noodles and I make better pasta than this. Like why why am I spending like literally like a plate of spaghetti was 16 bucks like with three meatballs. Like, are you kidding me? That's insane.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I I definitely see that. Yeah. I I definitely see that. Um, and I could definitely get that now that I've made more of the dishes that I like from home, and I'm like, damn, this is not too bad.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I've even gone just takes a little experimentation.

SPEAKER_02

I've even gone as far as to make my own in and out sauce. Uh don't come after me in and out. But damn, it's pretty close. Yeah. Uh the trick is uh to keep it in the fridge for a while. It it it it kind of yeah, it melts together in the fridge. So I tasted it before the fridge and afterward. World of difference. Oh yeah. World of difference. But I'm not gonna give my new chemical bonds happen, all the jazz. Not gonna give my secrets out, guys. Come on.

SPEAKER_03

It's not like there isn't uh a couple hundred different copycat recipes for whatever restaurant you want.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But uh realistically speaking, cooking is not as hard as a lot of people are afraid of.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. I agree.

SPEAKER_03

Cleanup is annoying sometimes. That's the annoying part. That can be really annoying. And when you fail, it kind of sucks. But if you have a backup, it's not the end of the world. And big thing, big thing is try to learn the basics and the reasons why you're doing the steps. In in that vein, Alton Brown, uh, a lot of people have heard of him. He's an easy person to find, huge, huge dis digital footprint on the internet. Oh, yeah. Just go start looking at some of the stuff he does. He he recommends books that he's learned from the whole jazz, but just learning like the super simple basics as to like what you were saying. Put the put the sauce in the fridge, and suddenly it's a huge difference. And and like for baking, just for example, you you bloom your cocoa before you make your chocolate cake, and it makes a difference.

SPEAKER_02

Or or letting your steak rest is very important. Ginormous difference in people. People do not do that. And I did not do that before, and like all the juice would spill out, and I'd be like, and then I'd have to punch the steak because it upset me. Yeah. You know, obviously.

SPEAKER_03

So And then you'd have to practically break a tooth or whatever while you tried to knot to not waste it.

SPEAKER_02

I already punched it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, at least you tenderized it a little. Post mortem. Postmortem. But yeah, learn learn the reasons why you do the steps, and it will make almost any dish you make that it even is even tangentially related to the better.

SPEAKER_02

Sidebar, I'm glad you you you mentioned Elton Brown because him in particular explains every little thing and why it matters down to the freaking science.

SPEAKER_03

Funny, easy to digest way.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Good Eats is a very s uh good show that he made that.

SPEAKER_03

He's not like a dry scientist that is just modern. This is why you do this and this does that.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I I mean he's not Bobby Flay, but you know.

SPEAKER_03

He's better.

SPEAKER_02

Oh sheesh, bro. Um you're lucky we're paying by the hour for this studio. If not, I'd flip this kid.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Uh that's it for me on this one.

SPEAKER_02

And my next one in our wonderful grab bag we got going on here.

Work From Home Call Cutoff

SPEAKER_02

Under R slash confession by burner underscore onyx. I started working from home recently and found a loophole.

SPEAKER_03

Oh bye.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so um I, 22 female, am using a burner account because my job could be a stake if someone found this out. Speaking of stake. Uh exactly. I recently started working from home in the finance sector.

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy.

SPEAKER_02

My job consists of a lot of calls, don't want to give away too much.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

We do a lot of overtime as calls can drop in at one minute to finish, and we can't just hang up. Mind you, calls can last from two minutes to two hours. Oh jeez. Depending on what the customer needs. I was sitting there a couple of weeks ago, and it was 45 minutes past my queue time. It was a Friday night, which is drinking night, and your girl was thirsty. The call was looking like it was going to be at least another 30 minutes because there was a couple things that customer wanted to do. Well, here's where it gets bad. I had just had a customer before this one who got a call and had to go, which gave me the bright idea. So the way out system is set up, we can see the customer's phone number on the screen. With guilt in my veins and Long Island Ice T's on my mind, I picked up the phone and set it to a private and customer says, Oh I'm getting a call, I gotta go. And he said he'll call back. I had muted the mic on the phone so he couldn't hear me and hung up as soon as he picked up. I got to leave and have a drink. And I didn't have to continue to talk to that rude customer. I was ecstatic. Never told a soul, but whenever a customer is extra rude or talks down to me or calls in and goes on for too long, I call them. It works ninety per cent of the time. I hate that this is the new me. I do feel bad. I just needed to tell someone.

SPEAKER_03

Hey. In the context that they are presenting, that the customer's being rude and going on for longer than necessary, I understand it. I won't say it's optimal. Better learn how to handle people in conversations, in my opinion. But uh I fully understand the desire and drive to just end it that way because some people, regardless of how reasonable, kind, concise that you are, they just live to either be angry and take it out on someone, or to just talk on and on and on about anything and everything. Every single part of a sentence is just an invitation for them to start a new topic of conversation. And those people, I understand, they're generally that way because they're lonely and they just want human interaction to talk with. But there are better avenues of gaining that than customer service personnel. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Um it's hard. I know that for sure, especially when you need something. And this hits home to me because I used to work uh at a call center, uh, and having to talk to angry people and angry technicians and people mad at me, and I don't even know them.

SPEAKER_03

Right. You have absolutely nothing at all to do with the decision that made them angry, but they get to take it out on you.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Uh but it um it definitely g brings me flashbacks. Maybe I have PTSD.

SPEAKER_03

Probably, honestly.

SPEAKER_02

Probably.

SPEAKER_03

To some degree or another.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Uh it was fun though. We I did have that one drunk guy that was sat sit across from me. And his antics were pretty fun. Oh, yeah, the coworker you talked about before. Uh he would, like I said in a previous episode, he wouldn't if you're yelling at him, he's gonna put you on speaker. And uh we're just gonna laugh, I guess. Yeah. All together, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

Clean Insults That Still Sting

SPEAKER_03

Alrighty, now I have an ask credit. This one's by Pastor of Muppets. What is your best non-swearing insult? Just some rapid fire responses. Oscar Wilde in parentheses. Some people bring joy wherever they go, others whenever. If you were any simpler, you would need to be watered twice a week. Heard a drill sergeant call a private snake mittens. I'm not really sure where that go where that comes from, but I think it would stop somebody in their tracks if you called them that. Thanks for helping me. It was like doing it by myself, but harder.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, uh I experience that a lot of the time.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Mm-hmm. It is because you deal with volunteers, and sometimes volunteers are more hindranced than they are helping. It's like, uh, don't help me, but help me by just standing there. Yeah. Help me with moral support and staying the hell out of my way. I envy the people who never met you. Mm-hmm. And then a similar one. I feel sorry for the people who have to know you, and I can't wait until I'm no longer one of them. Sigbao The only thing I have holding me back right now is that I have self-respect and dignity.

SPEAKER_02

That one's pretty rough and patience, probably.

SPEAKER_03

We have something in common. Neither of us knows what you're talking about. A lot of customer service personnel will have uh come across that one. Well, you did your best, and that's what's just so sad. Wisdom is chasing him, but man, can that man run? I envy the simplicity of your perspective. If the bar was on the floor, you would bring a shovel. You identify windows by taste, don't you? You only have two brain cells, and they're both fighting for third place. You have the confidence of someone who's never been fact-checked. This one's a quote from Betty White. I would like to say that you look nice. I knew an old alcoholic British dude who made up gibberish words to call people he despised. My favorite word of his was Tugumpular Bulbous.

SPEAKER_02

Tugumpular bulbus.

SPEAKER_03

That one's a mouthful. Bulbasaur. I was put in Facebook jail years ago for calling someone an ignorant potato. It's now my favorite insult. Ignorant potato. My dad once said, I swear, y'all have the collective IQ of a turnip. I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you. Mm-hmm. I like that one. I hope you have the day you deserve. Open to interpretation, but the person saying it certainly knows how they intend it. Take that however you like. You couldn't empty a bucket with the instructions on the bottom. This is one isn't so much of a insult as a good response when someone says something completely off-putting, out of pocket, or wrong. Would be, why would you say that to me? Just to make sure you put it in as bland of a tone as you can.

SPEAKER_02

Um I like uh But this is good for customer service. Uh I like, wow. You ever hear how smart you sound?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that one's good. I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. The ol the old age uh leader horse to water. Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Here's here's one that will get almost any millennial and a few like Gen Xers. Fred Rogers would be disappointed in your choices right now.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

That or Steve Irwin, you know, one of those two.

SPEAKER_02

RP, Steve Irwin. A side note, his son is doing some pretty big stuff uh right now with so he's kind of taken on the face for the social media and stuff like that. And uh a really good reminder of his dad, Steve Irwin, so it's it's uh touching in a way.

When Tech Perfection Makes Us Crave Flaws

SPEAKER_00

Good.

SPEAKER_02

And my last one in our excellent grab bag here under R slash Honest Hot Takes. Uh this is not really a hot take, it's actually very poignant. By Zealous Ideal Grass 672. The more perfection technology gives us, the more we'll start to crave imperfection.

SPEAKER_03

There's actually quite a few uh pieces of media that delve into that.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. Hot take slash prediction. I don't know. I'm hoping this engages you guys in good conversation. Uh I agree. I think technology is making perfection so cheap that imperfection will soon become the preference and desire. Filters make our faces flawless, AI can generate stunning art, polish writing to perfection, and these insane cinematic videos I've been seeing. Things that used to be a treat to witness that took so much time and effort from the humans behind it. Now that everyone can create perfect quote unquote in an instant, I think we'll start to crave things that are unmistakably human, which in my opinion means flawed. I don't know about y'all, but I already crave the raw, candid, realistic Instagram post from friends. I'm way more likely to engage in the posts or comments that seem a bit more sloppy in nature. To a point I definitely agree with that. Uh I think specifically with the introduction of AI, you could definitely tell that there's the human part of that missing. And so that's the hard part.

SPEAKER_03

To be human is to be flawed. That's something I heard a long time ago. I have no idea where it came from. But when it comes to AI and quote unquote art, it it kinda it kind of gives you something to think about because yes, AI can generate seemingly perfect things, but at least today all AI really does is regurgitate the stuff it's been seen or it's been shown, I mean. That's not that's not the heart and soul of creating art. If you're doing business spreadsheets, there's not really art to that. I don't care about the use of AI for that stuff. But when it comes to like actually trying to create art, like visual art and such, I I don't think it's it shouldn't be a one-all-be-all. I understand it is a useful tool for those of us who struggle with creativity in that we have the good concept of what we want to see, and then we can kind of fiddle with that with various prompts and kind of dial it in.

SPEAKER_02

And also to streamline certain things, yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_03

But and like for editing of videos and stuff, I can totally understand a post-production usage of AI.

SPEAKER_02

Certainly other applications, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But I've never wanted to watch an AI video. Yes, medium. As soon as I realize it's AI it turns me off gross immediate scroll.

SPEAKER_02

I will also add, it's not just visual art. I know that uh artists, the music artists were very concerned um when AI was coming out about music, and and because um I remember a long time ago a completely AI Drake song came out, and it was uh eerily good, but you could tell it was something was off, but it was good enough to get the attention of them to try to, you know, stop AI to you know from getting in the music industry like that. So I definitely understand some of the things that are a little scary. Um also Skynet. Terminator Man, those are some good movies. I would rather them stay my favorite.

SPEAKER_03

I would rather them stay in the realm of fantasy slash fiction.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't want to fight the Terminator. I mean Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he's a robot. That's like double trouble, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I have a lot to say about AI and how I don't care for it all the way down to the resour the real world resources it's eating up, depriving people of, depriving communities of. But that could be a whole episode in and of itself. So let's let's uh move on to more jolly conversational topics, but uh you all know that I don't like it, and that'll be enough for now.

Atomic Power For Petty Gaslighting

SPEAKER_03

Now, I have a question for you, Alan. As my my last one of the day. And it is under God Tier Superpowers by Dog Human. You can manipulate matter at the atomic level. The atomic level. That's that's pretty small. It's not you you can't just create matter, but it's pretty close. Ninety-nine percent of people would make infinite gold. I don't care. Tell me the petty, infuriating changes. Like making their left shoe five percent heavier or their favorite pen's ink completely transparent for ten seconds. Are you going to gaslight your enemies? Or to put in a more easily digestible term, tell me the petty and infuriating changes you would make to gaslight your enemies.

SPEAKER_02

But obviously, I would make it so minuscule that they wouldn't be able to tell right away.

SPEAKER_03

It would take at least a dozen before it started to become a little more like genuinely noticeable.

SPEAKER_02

And then they're like, damn, my my nose is becoming a schnazz over here, you know. Or I would also make it like if uh people are eavesdropping or kind of like snitching, like their earlobes get a little longer. Little dangly.

SPEAKER_03

So you're you're thinking directly change their body. Not so much not so that they notice immediately or in and of themselves, but they they have to like the when they see themselves in the mirror, they're gonna be like, wait, the f So you're you're playing the long-term psychoelectrical game.

SPEAKER_02

It reminds me of an old SNL skit, one of my favorites of all time. It's where uh artists uh they do a skit of an artist uh Gabriel Iglesias. Or um no, not Gabriel Iglesias, it's of the artist Enrique Iglesias. Oh okay. And uh of course I don't like to, you know, sh shit on anybody's looks or whatever, uh, but he had a a very a rather noticeable mole.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh a real life mole that he had for a long time. Um I don't even think he has it now, but whatever. Uh and the skit was that he would be singing the song, and every time it would the camera would pan away and come back, the mole would grow and grow to the to the point where half his face was mole. So it was um uh rather interesting to see as a kid. Like, damn. That'd be crazy. So maybe I'd do that to someone too. That would be pretty crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Just their mole, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

Or there's also a movie called Thinner. It's uh actually from a book um uh that Stephen King wrote. It's called Thinner, and it's basically that a uh gypsy person put a a curse on this guy who had it all, and um he's a big guy at first, and he's losing weight and he's all happy, like, damn, I'm losing weight. Right. I'm like, I'm not even exercising, I could eat as much as I want and and get thinner. And uh towards the end, uh skeletal and towards death. Right. So I mean I wouldn't want to go that far, but damn, that'd be kind of crazy, you know.

SPEAKER_03

I sidebarred off there, but I I yeah, that would be that would be pretty crazy. In this scenario, I think you'd have to like follow them around consistently because it's not like this isn't a power where you can like put a curse on somebody and just have it perpetually alter them as they go.

SPEAKER_02

Have it grow their mold throughout the day, huh?

SPEAKER_03

Unless you unless you're really really good at it and like you could alter a thyroid in such a way.

SPEAKER_02

I'm assuming I could if I can control matter, I can pretty much do anything.

SPEAKER_03

I mean you you'd still need to know how the how, where, and why and what of the function of different organs in order to really do that. But yeah, yeah. It wouldn't be that hard to learn. I'll just be like Especially with trial and error if you really don't care.

SPEAKER_02

I'll just be like, you my enemy, your nose will grow three centimeters every time you lie. Three centimeters, that's huge. Yeah, it's gonna get freaking huge. You better not tell a lie. I'm telling you why. Yeah. I'm watching.

SPEAKER_03

Man, you're you're in the much more direct and uh crazy psychological way. I was thinking just like screwing with their clothing or uh making it so that you know they're um similar to like the left shoe he was talking about, making it slightly heavier, or me in my personal opinion, I think uh extending or shortening the soul on one side or the other would really screw with them long term.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, because really what I would do with that superpower is obvious obviously clone Bobby Flay and have him as my personal chef.

SPEAKER_03

But that's not that doesn't have anything to do with your enemy.

SPEAKER_02

No, that guy didn't care about my mystery.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, but but imagine being able someone's bothering you and actively while they're talking to you and being a nuisance, you can be doing what that uh earlier uh post was about and start cutting their stitches in their clothing. And so that the next time they raise their arm after their shirt falls away.

SPEAKER_02

Um that's kind of equivalent to me of uh opening the salt lid and having them pour the salt and then the lid comes off. That's kind of a little if you have that massive superpower.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I don't know. Man, I mean honestly, the longer you think about it, the more ways you can think of doing it. And coming at this cold turkey, neither one of us has had the the true time and consideration of it.

SPEAKER_02

But that's a thinker one. Yeah. The things I would do to my enemies.

SPEAKER_03

And and part of the for me, part of the constraint on this is trying to stay in the realm of petty. Mm hmm. Because I would typically stay in the page. I would do so many other cool things. There's so many Things you can do that would be far more than petty. But to try and keep it confined to petty I think it'd probably be something along the lines of you where you change a little bit about themselves where like you make uh the eyebrow on one side significantly bushier or or or like half the hairs fall out. Like you make half the hairs super weak and so that they just fall out, and so it's a really like sparse eyebrow on one side.

SPEAKER_02

Or if I had an enemy that was a chick, like and every time I saw her, I would add one mustache hair. Can you take it off? Nope. But it just keeps coming one at a time.

unknown

Beep, beep, beep.

SPEAKER_02

And not consistently. I want 'em in different sides.

SPEAKER_03

Or different spots. Or every time someone is bothering you, you start uh adjusting their teeth so that one starts getting progressive and more and more crooked and like sticking almost straight out. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Damn, do some cold-blooded stuff.

SPEAKER_03

There's there's some cold-blooded stuff you can do. Mm-hmm. Oh, manipulate the earwax in their ear. So that it like makes them completely deaf in one ear. But it doesn't like permanently damage them, but you're you're making them feel like they're going deaf. I'm gonna turn the left foot into the right foot and the right foot into the left. I think that's a bit more than that that's significant change, probably more than petty. I mean on a on a god level, that could be considered petty, but I'm gonna give them feet hand.

SPEAKER_02

What'd you gonna do now? What are you gonna do now?

SPEAKER_03

Just start shortening their pinky finger. Oh my god. Eventually it's just this little like it's no longer than the nug than the single first knuckle. Just a nub.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy. That is crazy. Yeah, I would do some pretty crazy things.

SPEAKER_03

Make their fingernails extra brittle.

SPEAKER_02

But what I would do for our listeners is I would, in fact, every listen we get, I'd give them a gold bar and a signed Connor McGregor hat. Mm-hmm. It would just appear. Once they listen to the episode, boom, gold bar.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Our listeners gonna be bawling.

SPEAKER_03

Man, I'm I'm glad I'm a listener. Hopefully that'll happen soon, huh?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, everybody get a gold bar.

Would You Survive Your Favorite Anime World

SPEAKER_02

And uh before we end the episode, Harley. Uh may or may not know whether we have anime fans or or people that watch animes as our listeners. Um I myself I got kind of late into anime uh through friends and stuff like that. I was never really interested in it for a long time. Right. Um, but I do have one favorite anime of all time. And uh you, you probably have on the same boat, you've probably seen a couple, and I'm sure maybe you have a favorite one as well.

SPEAKER_03

So my question is Quick note similar to you, I'd never seen an anime until about four years ago. So you that's only because my wife was into it, my then girlfriend was into anime at the time.

SPEAKER_02

But you've seen it, and you have a favorite, I'm assuming. Relatively, relatively relatively. So, Harley, your relative favorite anime, if you were transported into that world, how long would you think you survive? Would you thrive or would you die immediately?

SPEAKER_03

That would depend greatly on location. Uh and and uh if I go as I am now, or if I go like I'm suddenly spawned in as a character that's already there. You're just a dude. If I if I'm just if I'm just me just transported in, I'm probably uh, as the kids say, cooked. It's uh it's it's just there's a there's a lot of animes where if you're not uh special in some way, you're cooked. You're nothing. Sometimes you're pr you're basically less than nothing. And uh So your relative favorite anime. Uh that would probably be one piece. Yes, you're cooked.

SPEAKER_02

You're cooked, dude.

SPEAKER_03

They got the gum gums for the. And you need well, you know, you don't strictly have to be taught, but yeah, if you're not taught, you're you're you're looking at years of development to become to get to the point where you're remotely in contention of other people who have already been doing it.

SPEAKER_02

It's a pretty good world. I mean, I'd want to be uh Luffy, the main character there, but I'd only stretch one thing, so it I wouldn't I wouldn't I would not want to be Luffy myself. I'd be you know like Mr. Fantastic, read any size you need, Richards. That's what I would be. I wouldn't I wouldn't solve no crime. No, they're getting away with everything. Nah. That's just bank heists across the street? I don't give a my guy. Anyway, well, if I was uh in the same situation with my favorite anime, I would probably die in 30 seconds.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Depends on where, again. So if you're in one of the towns, probably not. So But if you're on the out if you're outside of a town, you're you're definitely dead.

SPEAKER_02

Uh my favorite anime is Attack on Titan. And uh, whether you've only seen the beginning or you've seen the very end, uh either you're gonna get bodied in the beginning from this and that, or you're gonna live closer to the end and you're still gonna get bodied, because um if you know the ending of that show, you know that uh a lot of people got bodied. Um and they didn't have any cell phones, I don't see any cell phones, they weren't like taking videos, at least you could record your final moment just a straight body bag.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, so um I too, as the kids say, would be cooked. Yep. And I'd be chopped. All of the all of the words.

SPEAKER_03

All of the colloquialisms.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, all of them. Uh so let us know in the comments um if you were transported to your favorite anime, would you survive, would you thrive, or would you die immediately? Let us know. Thank you for listening to this episode. We appreciate you. Like, comment, subscribe, and we'll catch you on the next one.

SPEAKER_03
